If you follow me on social media – and well here on my blog as well – you know Columbus has really become my second home! Not only do I love the women who live there, they have opened up their arms to me, but I adore the businesses that make visiting a dream!!
Columbus is just about an hour and 45 minutes North of Cincy. It’s an incredible city to escape for the day or the weekend!
Today I am rounding up my favorites (in no particular order) and sharing them with you – Enjoy!
Pumpkin spice, shopping small, and everything nice…it’s almost that time of year!
I am sad to see summer fade away, but the idea of fall fun gives me a glimmer of what exciting things we have to come. I’ve whipped up this blog to give you a list of some amazing opportunities to give back to the community while supporting local businesses! I love starting my holiday shopping at these fun markets. There’s no better combination of finding the perfect gift for a friend or family member + putting cash in a locals pocket! I will be updating this blog post through out the month as I find more ways to shop small this fall/winter. If you find anything please tag me and let me know to check it out and share!
Derrek and I had THE BEST date night at Palomino a few weeks back. It is a wonderful restaurant/bar downtown Cincinnati over looking fountain square. The view was incredible as Jazz Fest had downtown booming with life. When I added to my Instagram stories sharing that we were at Palomino…my DMs blew up! Everyone shared with me their recommendations and how Palomino is their favorite place to dine!
Where have you guys been? Why did no one tell me about Palomino before? Where have I been? I quickly learned I’ve been living under a rock and totally missing out.
We celebrated Jax’s birthday last month in Springfield, Ohio. Just about an hour and a half North-East from Cincinnati, Springfield is snuggled in between Columbus and Dayton. It’s a quaint little place full of vibrancy.
The first time I visited Columbus I drove past The Book Loft. My first thought was, “My mom would die and go to heaven in there!” The Book Loft is an independent book store located in Columbus with THIRTY TWO rooms FULL of books!
Okay, so it’s been a few months since my visit to Flowers & Bread…but I could not forget to share this Columbus gem with you all! You just blink an eyelash extension and months go by! BUT I promise a visit to Flowers & Bread will be a place for you to put a pause on life and enjoy the beauty in the details.
Saturday the boys and I got a VIP first look at the New Kings Island Peanuts Celebration. It was A BLAST! The boys were smiling from ear to ear. Derrek and I got to re-live our teenage years. We spent sooo much time at Kings Island together. It has a special place in our hearts and we love sharing it with the kids. They absolutely love Kings Island and everything they had planned for their Peanuts Celebration!
Six months ago the hubs and I planned to participate in the Run to Erase Epilepsy 5k. It was being held in Columbus, Ohio so we decided to plan a weekend getaway! I reached out to my Columbus babes for recommendations for places to stay. They all said we had to stay at The Joseph. They were not wrong. It was absolutely beautiful, and the perfect getaway!
